THE NRNY PROJECT
The NRNY Project pays homage to my roots in New Rochelle, by revisiting the very places where I learned to love art to showcase how this city has irrevocably shaped me. I spent one week creating site-specific drawings, documented in time-lapse video, at the Children’s Library, R Café, downtown and, of course, at the birthplace of my artistic interest, New Rochelle High School.
The diversity of media and style used in this project is intended to reflect the real-life diversity and uniqueness of our city. From ink, to illustration-marker, to watercolor, each drawing is distinct, yet fits in the series. The time-lapse videos seek to capture the cultural and artistic renaissance New Rochelle is undergoing, as well as to reflect the enduring qualities that continue to draw me back to this city.
